Safe & Effective

Narrowband 311nm is the safest, most effective wavelength for treating skin conditions in the home. UV-B comes in either broadband or narrowband. Narrowband UVB is the beneficial light found naturally in sunlight. The Dermalight 80 encompasses only the beneficial light waves across the UV spectrum.

Home based Therapy

The unit comes complete with a rounded end comb attachment, that directs the therapeutic narrowband light waves to the scalp, to effectively treat conditions within the hairline that are so often a major problem area. It's superior light weight construction provides a wide treatment area across short time periods, making it ideal for home based photo therapy (light) treatment.


Psoriasis Treatment

Psoriasis is a non contagious, chronic skin disorder that often causes red patches (called Psoriatic Plaques) to appear on the skin. These patches of skin are inflamed and subject to excessive skin production which causes white, dry flakes of skin to be produced and can cause severe itching, social embarrassment and shatter one's confidence.

Psoriatic Plaques are most commonly found on elbows or knees, but can also be found within the hairline, on the face and in the fingernails of a sufferer. While it is not known exactly what causes Psoriasis, it is widely believed to be genetic and often aggravated by stress, poor diet and excesses of alcohol and / or smoking.

If topical treatments such as ointments or creams fail to work, UV-B treatment is considered as the next step method which, although response rates vary between patients, has seen excellent results in reducing plaques.

Vitiligo Treatment

Vitiligo is a condition that causes de pigmentation in patches or areas of skin. It is caused when the cells which control pigmentation die, become damaged or malfunction. As with Psoriasis, the definitive cause of the condition is unknown, but genetics and disease of the autoimmune system are believed to be contributing factors.

Aside from cosmetic camouflage, narrowband UVB treatment has been found to be exceptionally successful in treating the condition. Gradual and regular exposure of the skin to specific wavelength (311 nanometer) UVB light has shown the ability to regenerate damaged cells enabling re-pigmentation of the skin.
